Structure And Separation Principle Of Air Compressor Oil Separator Tank

The oil separator tank is a tank which can separate the mixture of oil and gas. Oil separator tank is generally cylindrical 45# steel welded carbon steel skin tank, oil separator tank made of stainless steel is very rare, generally not used. Another function is to store lubricating oil. There is an oil and gas separating filter core in the oil separating tank, which is called oil separating core for short. The oil separating core is usually winded by about 23 layers of imported fiberglass layer by layer, and a few jerry-built cuttings may be only about 18 layers.


    The working principle is that when the mixture of oil and gas passes through the glass fiber layer at a certain velocity, the oil droplets are blocked by physical and mechanical, and then slowly condense into large droplets. Under gravity, the oil droplets fall to the bottom of the oil separator core. Then a return pipe filters this part into the oil at the bottom of the oil separator core and leads it into the nose to participate in the next step. Ring. There is a check valve on the return pipe so that the oil can only flow into the compression chamber of the main engine from the bottom of the oil separator core.


     In fact, 99% of the oil in the oil-gas mixture has been separated to the bottom of the oil separator before it penetrates the core.


     The high-pressure and high-temperature oil-gas mixture from the main engine enters the oil separating tank along the tangent direction of the oil separating tank. Under the action of centrifugal force, most of the oil in the oil-gas mixture is thrown onto the inner wall of the oil separating tank and flows along the inner wall to the bottom of the oil separating tank under the action of gravity. Another part of the oil droplets condense into large droplets in the process of collision, and finally sink to the bottom of the oil tank under the action of gravity to participate in the next cycle.


     The air filtered by the oil separator core is cooled by the minimum pressure maintenance valve (minimum pressure valve) to the rear cooler and then discharged from the air compressor.
